Go Fit Camp - Week 5
Hey Gang, Week 5 of the Go Fit Camp is in the books and I've suffered a setback in my effort to lose 20 pounds in 6 weeks. Last week, all I needed was 5 pounds in 2 weeks and I was done. But when I tipped the scales today, I had gained 3 pounds!! What Happened!! I got off the cucumber diet, started back on the low fat diet that my trainer Leon had outlined for me, but I still gained 3 pounds. The only thing that I could figure was the muscle mass gained from 5 weeks of intense work-outs was beginning to show on my body. Leon said muscle weighs more than fat, so that's what happened. Friends have noticed that my stomach gut has gone down, and my face also trimmed down. I guess I shouldn't worry so much about weight loss, and rejoice in getting more toned. Nevertheless, I've still got 1 more week to go. Last week, we got into more kick-boxing. Results so far to date.<br /><br />Week 1 - Started at 237 pounds. Lost 3 pounds. 234 pounds<br /><br />Week 2 - 234 pounds. Lost 2 pounds. Down to 232 pounds<br /><br />Week 3 - 232 pounds. Lost 2 more pounds. Down to 230 pounds.<br /><br />Week 4 - 230 pounds. Lost 8 more pounds. Down to 222 pounds.<br /><br />Week 5 - 222 pounds. Gained 3 pounds. Go Fit Camp - Week 4
You are not gonna believe me when I tell you this. I lost 11 pounds last week. When I stepped on the scales on friday, I knew I had lost quite a bit of weight because I put on these Levis that didn't fit me last month, and I had room to spare. But 11 pounds!!! Let me tell you how I did it. One word. "CUCUMBERS". I cheated on my low fat diet and I just ate cucumbers for breakfast, lunch, and dinner all last week. Plus, I doubled up on my swimming regiment, hitting the pool in the morning and in the evening all last week. I was so excited about my 11 pound weight loss, that I did a dumb thing. I ate more than I should have over the week-end, and I gained 3 of those 11 pounds back!! Leon, my trainer at the Go Fit Camp, said such a rapid weight loss was no good, because I probably lost muscle too. Nevertheless, I am only 5 pounds away from my goal of 20 pounds in 6 weeks. Go Fit Camp - Week 3
Ok gang, we're half-way home and i'm a little behind schedule in my quest to lose 20 pounds in 6 weeks at the Go Fit Camp. Last week I lost another 2 pounds which puts me at 7 pounds lost in 3 weeks. I should be at 10 pounds lost at the half-way mark, which means I need to lose another 13 pounds in the next 3 weeks to reach my goal. I can do it. Week 3 was by far the toughest so far. Leon had us do lots of wind sprints, squats, (a killer), crunches, jumping jacks, lunges, supermans, (don't ask. I lose my breath just thinking about it!!) and lots more cardio. The reason i didn't lose more weight was because I kinda cheated on my diet, (just a little) during the week. I had family visiting from out of town and you know what that means. Restaurants, cook-outs, and my low fat diet flew out the window!! They're gone now so Rosie and I shoud be back on schedule, eating healthy again. Bring on week 4!!<br /><br />Go Fit Camp 4020 N. Go Fit Camp Week 2
Hey gang, Week 2 Of the Go Fit Camp is in the books, a little more progress, and inching closer toward my goal of 20 pounds lost in 6 weeks!! This past week, Leon put Rosie and I through a bit harder regime of kick-boxing, push-ups, leg raises, crunches, jumping jacks, lunges, and treadmill. He also had us wear a 20 pound weighted vest to add insult to injury during cardio work-outs. I'm trying to lose 20 pounds, not add on!! All and all, a very productive week and 2 more pounds lost. Here are the results to date:<br /><br />Week 1 - 3 pounds lost. 237 to 234 pounds<br /><br />Week 2 - 2 pounds lost. 234 to 232 pounds<br /><br />Go Fit Camp, 4020 N.Mesa. Go Fit Camp - Week 1
Hey Gang, Go Fit Camp week 1 of a 6 week fitness camp is in the books, and Rosie my fiancee, and myself, have survived it, with a few sore muscles and some pounds lost. Go Fit Camp is run by Leon Daniels, a former army drill sergeant, motivational speaker, and certified trainer, at 4020 N. Mesa, (call 915-630-1450 to join). Leon is a nice, affable, sweet guy off the court, but he turns into Sergeant Carter during work-outs, and during week 1, Rosie and I felt like Gomer Pyle!! We felt his wrath during the 1 hour sessions 3 times a week. We did upper and lower body weight training, jump rope, kick-boxing, treadmill, cycling, squats, lunges, push-ups, and ab work-outs. Leon also measured our body fat and weight prior to starting this grueling work-out program. He also customized a Meal Planner report for each of us. Mine consisted of a 1600 calorie per day low fat diet, which included breakfast, snack #1, lunch, snack #2, and dinner. Check in with me every monday for the next 6 weeks, because I will be monitoring my progress, and sharing it with our Kiss listeners. My goal is to lose 20 pounds in 6 weeks, so I can fit into my wedding tuxedo. For the record, I am 6'2 and I started the Go Fit Camp at 237 pounds. After week 1, I have lost 3 pounds.
